I N T E R L I N K E D is a dance piece inspired by the film Bladerunner 2049 and was showcased at Cinema is Power presented by The Film Dispatch featuring Roger Deakins.

I started by unveiling movement scores that emerged from the quotes, themes, and questions woven into Blade Runner 2049. At its core, this piece became a meditation on the womb space — the miracle of life, of being chosen, of imperfection and humanness. We’re created, and in turn, we create. That cycle has been sitting with me a lot.

I’ve also been pushing myself to use my gaze and facial expressions as more intentional tools in performance, alongside the body. In this piece, I even spoke the quote, “a system of cells interlinked within cells interlinked…” as I entered and exited the dance. Adding my own voice into the performance space felt both vulnerable and really, really fun.
